About Me

Founder, CEO, Host

Mr. Whiskey

☢️Founder of Couple O' Nukes LLC☢️

Northern boy turned Southern man, I'm an entrepreneur and a U.S. Navy veteran. A former Electrician's Mate Nuclear, I was inspired by the unique individuals of the Naval Nuclear community to create a comedy (occasionally, life advice) podcast.

However, no other nukes were truly interested. So, I pivoted to what I'm passionate about, mentoring young adults, providing mental health support and resources, as well as comedy and life advice, helping others to rebrand their lives and rebuild their dreams, just as I have.

From that, I've been on an entrepreneurial journey, where I have dipped my toes into the pool of the entertainment and speaking industry, started work as a comedian, singer, actor, voice actor, author, and more. Most of which, I am passionately pursuing every day.

With the exception of guests, this is a solo journey. I run my company by myself, which includes the podcast, speaking engagements, comedy, voice acting, finances, and more. I created the podcast, and I host it, record it, edit it, schedule all sessions, run all of the social media pages, attend and travel for events, and everything else involved with producing a show.

COMING SUMMER 2025

This powerful episode I guested on was a message of hope for alcoholics and addicts.

From the perspective of a loved one of someone who is addicted, I share about boundaries, time, and hope. I emphasize the importance of proper boundary setting and why permanent abandonment can hinder recovery.

These  stem from the experiences I've had with addicts and sober alcoholics in my life, and I share what I've been through.

In this episode, I share my experience with suicide and death in the military, sharing how it affected the people I worked with, especially my Captain.

We tackle the topic of whether or not suicide can be truly prevented, and what to do about it.

Additionally, we go over some coping mechanisms, as well as the power of creative outlets when it comes to depression, anxiety, and stress management.

This episode was mainly military-focused, but not just for active duty and veterans, but for their families and those supporting as well. Host Ed and I discuss how veterans deserve available benefits regardless of their length in service, the relation there seems to be with childhood trauma in military service, and the importance of VA benefits and the flaws of the system. Additionally, there are memoir-like bits about my military experience, and both my life before and after.

I got the chance to talk with Mr. West for a serious episode about mental health and life. He and I had actually chatted on the phone beforehand, and I'm especially appreciative of him for hosting this show because he is struggling with many battles himself but still puts on the show to help others.

Audio Quality Warning. (This host had me record through a phone not my microphone.)

This episode was all about leadership in both the military and civilian-side, with a heavy focus on the importance of communication, faith, and humor.

We explore how leadership is shaped by experiences and the people we interact with. Additionally, we get into how technology and social media can be leveraged to mentor young adults and provide access to mental health resources.

This episode was focused mainly on depression and suicide in youth. We address various aspects of parenting, social media, suicidal ideation, the Bible in relation to suicide, identity, self-esteem, statistics, and more.

I went on the KAJ Masterclass to talk about utilizing social media to share mental health resources and bring suicide awareness and prevention to more people, as well as my journey and the importance of identity and transitioning careers.

On this show, I focus on the importance of genuine community support, the role of leadership in mental health, and the integration of faith in coping strategies.

I had a God blessed opportunity to be on Testimonies of Triumph with Bradley Waldrop, who recently launched a show to highlight people's stories of faith.

I got personal in this episode, focusing specifically on overcoming the continual abuse of religion by the Church, a private school, and the people in my life- most especially, my parents. The story focuses on forgiveness- how I forgave my father, and the very difficult path I am on with trying to ultimately forgive my mother. My personality has always been intellectually curious, which enabled me to seek the truth of God despite the weaponization and misconceptions of Him that had been presented to me. Not everyone has that kind of personality, so I highly encourage everyone to look for the truth past the abuse even if you're not curious.

Not everyone who misspeaks religion to you is evil. Some are merely misguided. Not every Church is evil just because you've been to some bad ones. Patience, understanding, and seeking knowledge are so important.

I was honored to be on the Healthy Mind, Healthy Life Podcast. This episode is honestly like a summary of what I've learned and taught for almost the past two years on my show, combining my knowledge and experience along with the great conversations I've had with amazing guests. The main discussion points included the power of community, the role of leadership in mental health, faith and mental health, and the journey of healing.  (The Episode)

This episode of Michael Cole's show was pretty personal and supportive, so I'll be using sentence fragments to keep the description short:

What my podcast is about/offers. A great and committed mentor I had. The importance of community. The masks of suicidal ideation and depression. Emotional burdens of the military. Challenges of seeking/getting help. Failures of military career planning. Changes needed to said programs. Healthy de-stressors and ways. Boundary setting. High school to military life. Young adulthood. Advice for veterans.

Andrew Houghton and I got into an unexpected conversation about the duality of my personal identity and the existence of Mr. Whiskey.

Branching from that, we spoke in detail about identity and the military, as well as the way that our family dynamics are affected when we move away from home, and we pondered some of the differences between college student and young military members.

We touch briefly upon modern masculinity. Overall, it was a splendid time, where I also shared a life I almost lived- one of motorcycles, landscaping, and possibly crime!

It was awesome to be interviewed by Lori Phillips on her Facebook Group, the Be Awesome Network.

This interview was a bit different than normal. In this one, I spoke a lot about my childhood and parenting goals, and the mental health involved with that, as well as self-love.

There is no one I would rather podcast with than Yayoi Komiyama. Look at those smiles! She is one of the best guests and hosts I've ever worked with. Together, we do exactly what I love doing, comedy AND life advice. On this episode of her show, Yayoi and I cover mental health, focusing on the silent battles many military members and veterans face. We also cover cyber bullying, eating disorders, social media, self-love self-harm. changing social dynamics, as well as some of my origin story.

I was also on her Facebook show, in her group, Brain to Belly. From consumerism to theoretical digestion science, this episode is full of laughter and conversation that is comfortable and casual but also enlightening. You are your #1 health advocate. So always be learning.

What a super fun time. Steve Wright is a natural host with a great smile and laugh. It was a pleasure to meet him. The group for ENTV is private on Facebook, but highly recommended for anyone trying to further their online reach and influence, especially if trying to help empower others. So, check it out if you join: Interview With Mr. Whiskey.

There is nothing greater than two Nuclear Operators who also preach. I didn't know so many of us existed!

This was a personal episode where God just put words in my mouth that I didn't expect. It's really astonishing to look back at how much negativity I've experienced from other believers within the community who twisted religion or were corrupted, but have hardened my spirit through conversations with God and studying the word. So many people leave the faith because of others, but it's our individual journey with the Lord that truly matters!

By far, one of the best times I've had recording. Be sure to check out Nicole Harvick and Glenda Kroll. We got to cover so much in just a short time. Talk about super impactful! This episode goes into so much about the military that needs to be talked about. From suicide to the disconnect with family, from the leadership to recruiting, and from our childhoods to our futures, it's a conversation y'all should hear: The Episode

I had the honor of appearing on the show Overcoming Illness, hosted by Paula Denoncourt on Elevation TV Network. Things get pretty personal as I share my backstory, family trauma, my military experience, my direct interactions with suicidal sailors, and more about mental health and the culture within the Naval Nuclear community. Check it out here.

I had the honor and pleasure of being a guest on Marcus Hart's podcast Transform U! Live Show!

Find him on the guest page to check out the episode of my show, where I got to host him.

My appearance on his show was a real, raw, and powerful conversation. We talk about some heartbreaking stats and stories, but there are so many resources out there for help. No resource is greater than ourselves and each other, though. Always be looking out for one another, say kind things, and lets support each other!
